    Here are a few examples of what your daily tasks would include:
    • Manage your own portfolio of insurance business, taking ownership of accounts in collaboration with the sales team.
    • Review and assess new insurance business applications and provide our sales team with new scheme quotes and prices for one off insurance cover.
    • Use your analytical skills to understand historic trends and claims experiences to set renewal terms.
    • Pro- and re-actively monitor and manage your insurance portfolio to ensure it meets our risk appetite and remains profitable.
    • Liaise with insurance companies, brokers and other intermediaries as required to maintain strong relationships.
    • Provide support to the sales team to ensure we continue to provide award winning service.

    • You will be extremely comfortable working with and manipulating numbers in Excel, to understand historical trends and future projections.
    • You will have proven relevant experience, but not necessarily in an insurance discipline.
    • You will have attention to detail and be comfortable assessing information quickly and effectively.
    • You will enjoy working as part of a busy team, and relish is swapping from one task to another.
    • You will therefore be organised and quick to prioritise your work as needed.
     
    Experience in the following is not essential but will help you in the role:
    • Experience working in an insurance or mathematical setting
     
    Location: You would be required at the office in Bristol at least 2 days a week, and the candidate needs to be within a commutable distance.

    In this role you will:
    • Maintain the IT computer inventory database
    • Set up, maintain, and remove user network accounts where appropriate
    • Manage consumables and prepare orders for sign off by the IT Manager
    • Set up equipment (hardware and resources) for lessons assemblies and meetings as required
    • Support staff and students with the use of Office 365, Microsoft Teams
    • Routine maintenance of projectors, cabling, and keyboards etc
    • Carry out routine SIMS maintenance tasks
    • Assist in the setting up of online examinations
    • Run software updates as required and directed by the IT Manager

    Through your insightful commercial and financial analysis and your careful financial control, you’ll help drive the business on their journey of sustainable growth.

    You’ll business partner with all areas of the company, really getting under the skin of the business to develop further opportunities. The right person will be able to develop the core elements of this role and grow it into an even more senior role as the business continues to push forward.

    Key responsibilities
    • Oversee and manage a small finance team across all areas of bookkeeping and transactional finance - purchase and sales ledger; banking and petty cash; payroll, VAT and HMRC statutory requirements.
    • Monthly management accounts production, as well as weekly, quarterly and year end management reporting.
    • Create and present all financial reporting
    • Ensure robust financial controls are in place
    • Review and improve all financial processes, fostering a continuous improvement environment
    • Develop and maintain budgets and forecasts
    • Lead negotiations and relationships for all corporate funding to support growth
    • In time build a dashboard of analysis, based around customer insight, margins and pricing, production materials and costs – all developed through a thorough understanding of the business and it’s drivers.
    • Manage insurance renewals and claims
    • Commercial and financial support to the Board as required

    Skills and experience
    • Qualified ACA/CIMA/ACCA accountant; late stage part qualified with appetite to qualify, or appropriate experience
    • Broad, all encompassing, financial management experience to include financial accounting and ideally management accounting
    • Ideally finance skills honed in a small to medium sized growing business
    • Proven finance business partnering skills
    • Developed relationship engagement and management experience – able to communicate in ‘real’ terms to a range of non-finance stakeholders
    • Hands-on attitude – able to support and lead your team in all areas of finance
    • Inspirational – both to your team and the wider business. Help them understand the importance of finance in a sound commercial decision making process.
    • Analytical – able to build a clear and concise dashboard of financial and commercial insight

The role is working for a large national client based here in Bristol, this well-established business has an immediate requirement for a 3yr+ experienced Accounts Administrator. This is a full-time working week Monday to Friday, working on site.
